Background

Charity and Empowerment Foundation is non-profit organization found in 2017 by Gai Chol Paul after he enrolled for his doctorate degree from Walden University. Gai learned the concept of positive social change from Walden University and he applied the concept by establishing CEF with the aim to empower communities to improve their healthy living conditions, fight poverty, eradicate illiteracy and discrimination against women around the world. 

CEF empowers communities through the provision of health, education, and livelihood improvement activities. CEF implement projects in hard to reach parts of South Sudan.

CEF envisions a free, empowered, and healthy society where all people are equal.


Theory of Change

  CEF empowers communities through the provision of health, education, and livelihood improvement activities. We support rural communities to improve their healthy living conditions, fight poverty, eradicate illiteracy and discrimination against women. We believe empowering rural communities is the best tool for achieving free, empowered, and healthy society where all people are equal.


CEF was found on the following objectives

  

1. To empower communities to take control of their healthy living conditions by changing their behaviors toward prevention of common diseases using integrated community case management approach to reduce mortality and morbidity caused by childhood illness in the county.

2. Advocate for transformative and transparent governance structures and institutions that are democratic and accountable. 

3. To challenge traditional institutions which promote and propagate discrimination against women. 

4. To champion advocacy activities towards the protection of children’s rights 

5. To facilitate and promote capacity building of the rural communities as a tool to improve their living conditions.

6. To champion the fight against Sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) 

7. Advocate for fair and just societies where human rights and humanity upholds.

8. Advocate for the culture of peace and tolerance.
